Project: Soilder Pile & Timber Lagging Seawall Repair
Service: Shoreline Protection
Location: Fox River; Oshkosh, WI
Date: Summer 2011
Project Details: 135 foot seawall repair. The existing 40 year old timber lagging was rotting and allowing the stone fill behind it to leach into the river which caused voids under the concrete pavement. Exisitng concrete pavement was removed, the stone fill behind the wall had minor contamination and was disposed of at a landfill. McMullen & Pitz removed the rotted timber lagging and replaced it with new timber lagging treated for submerged applications. New clean stone fill encapsulated in Type HR Fabric was placed behind the newly repaired wall and served as a base for the new 12″ reinforced concrete slabs. This repair work allowed the client to resume use of thier seawall by launching and removing boats from the river with large forklifts.
